Time of Transitions

It is a time of transitions for Epiphany.

In April, we experienced the joy of Jesus’ resurrection and the beauty of the spring season. We
also said “so long” to Pastors Doug and Beth and wished them well as they transition into
retirement from active ministry. We want to especially thank everyone who made our Easter
celebration so enjoyable and meaningful, as well as those who helped with Pastor Doug’s
farewell/retirement reception.

As we move from Easter into Pentecost, we will also transition as a congregation with Pastor
Russell Peek as our new spiritual leader. Pastor Russell’s first Sunday with us is on May 20th,
Pentecost. We will have an informal “glad you’re here” reception for him in the Fellowship Hall
following the Sunday service. We hope you can attend.

At the same time, we continue to re-examine and re-focus our current ministries. The PPPPM
Team, better known as the Pennington-Pensby Properties Planning Ministry Team, is gathering
feedback and data regarding our rental properties, and will be sharing their results with the
congregation soon. We are also re-doubling our efforts in Outreach and Stewardship ministries
and gearing up for VBS in July. Even though we are in transition, the day-to-day workings of
the church do not stop!

Looking ahead, we excitedly anticipate the spirit-filled days of Pentecost, revel in the newness of
spring, and happily welcome a new pastor. We have so much to be thankful for at Epiphany as
we continue to celebrate the gifts that Easter has given us, and experience refreshment both in
our individual spiritual lives and together as a congregation.

Peace be with you all,
Your Congregation Council
